Sundays Comin'

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I hope this finds you enjoying the intimate, covenant relationship you  have with God through Jesus Christ.  This week I am going to focus on how Jesus uses verses in Deuteronomy to thwart the devil's attacks in his life during the very beginning of his ministry.   I believe this is a most fascinating passage in the Bible: Matt. 4:1-11, known as the Wilderness Temptation.

We live in a time where people often don't really believe there is an enemy.   Even believers end up suffering under oppression and debilitating messages that have an origin beyond the person who said it or the circumstances that precipitated the situation.  Jesus' example is instructive to every believer.  Come Sunday and we'll consider this amazing passage together.

Blessings,
Bill

Sunday's Comin'
November 6,  2009
 Dear Brothers and Sisters,

I sure hope this has been a week of living by faith, not by sight for you.  I mean that I'm hoping you believe what God has said about you over what others say or perhaps what you feel.  I mean that you see God's hand behind, in, and through all the things regarding your life, and that you can celebrate His goodness in the midst of your life journey.  I've been focusing on the fifth chapter of Deuteronomy because I believe the Ten Commandments or Ten Words are so misunderstood for so many believers.  I don't believe God's commands are given to us to try and impose them on unbelievers primarily.  They are given that we might know how to make use of the grace we have been given to live a life that pleases the Lord.  If you read through the ten and think one or more of them don't apply to you, the chances are very good you may not fully understand them.  This Sunday we will look at the sixth commandment...it will apply to you and me for sure!

See you Sunday,
Bill
