Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Romans is not for light-weights! It is an amazing book, really the foundation of our faith. I hope last Sunday was helpful in seeing why Paul would say, "I am not ashamed of the gospel, it is the power of God for all who believe... For in the gospel a righteousness from God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last." We do need to understand the bad news in order to really appreciate the good news. I hope we will not be ashamed either-we all need the gospel. This week that will be brought home to all of us who have the benefit of a relationship with Jesus. We will look at the pitfalls of being religious and having access to so much. Let's not shirk from taking an honest look in the mirror. His kindness leads to repentance and repentance is a changed life!
Have a great week!
Bill
P.S. I wanted you to be aware of some needs we have. Could you serve in one of the following capacities this summer?
Did you know that 85% of all people who ever come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ do so between the ages of 4-14? If you would like to teach children who are truly pliable and open to truth, we have two opportunities for you. One opportunity is during the week of Vacation Bible School at Grace July 12-16 from 9:15-11:45 each morning as a preschool teacher for our 4-5 year olds. Another is a Sunday morning opportunity in our 5-year old Sunday School class twice a month during the 11:00 service. Please contact Kristal Cloer if you feel called to serve in either of these ministries and need more info.
Thanks so much,
Kristal kcloer@gracegso.org
